In 1993, MSG Promotions, Inc. was selected by the United States Golf Association as the exclusive corporate hospitality marketing and management company for the 1995 U.S. Open Championship at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, NY. On the heels of that successful event, the USGA extended their agreement with MSG to include the 1998 U.S. Open at The Olympic Club in San Francisco, CA. Since then, MSG has successfully managed and fulfilled the corporate hospitality programs for the 2001 - 2004 and 2006 - 2010 U.S. Open Championships.
Under Mimi Griffin’s direction, hospitality sales for the U.S. Open since 2001 have produced revenues in excess of $130 million. In 2008 at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, CA, MSG Promotions established a new record for U.S. Open hospitality sales by surpassing the $17 million mark while managing the involvement of over 250 different corporate clients.
In addition to their involvement with the U.S. Open, MSG Promotions staff members have served as the management team for several other USGA events including the 1992, 1995 and 2000 U.S. Senior Opens as well as the 1995 and 2009 U.S. Women’s Opens.
MSG Promotions, Inc. is currently marketing the corporate hospitality programs for the 2011 - 2013 U.S. Opens.
