Any company that purchases a hospitality package through the official Corporate Hospitality Program will be given the opportunity for refunds if the Championship is cancelled, postponed or does not include fans specifically due to a pandemic (including COVID-19) or other public health-related reasons.
The USGA’s official cancellation policy is outlined below.
In the event the Championship and/or the Hospitality Program is cancelled in its entirety, due to events and/or circumstances beyond the USGA’s reasonable control, the USGA shall, within thirty (30) days, issue a refund of monies paid.
In the event the Championship is postponed due to events and/or circumstances beyond the USGA’s reasonable control (other than short term postponements due to inclement weather), the company shall have the option to cancel this Agreement in accordance with the terms contained herein.
In the event one or more days of the Championship (but not the entire Championship) are cancelled due to events and/or circumstances beyond the USGA’s reasonable control, and are not rescheduled, the USGA shall provide written notification of such cancellation and, within thirty (30) days of the notification, the USGA will issue a refund of monies paid in accordance with the following terms:
Admission Fee: With respect to the portion of the Fee allocated to ticket admissions, the USGA’s general admission ticket policy in effect for the Championship with respect to a weather event or other event shall apply to hospitality facility ticket holders. In the event tickets are honored on a day other than the day printed on the ticket such tickets will grant access to the Championship grounds but not to the Hospitality Facility. In the event tickets are not valid for an alternative day of the Championship, the USGA shall refund the face value of the tickets.
Rental Fee: With respect to the portion of the Fee allocated to the hospitality rental, in the event the USGA determines that it must entirely cancel one or more scheduled days of the Corporate Hospitality Program, and the USGA is unable to reschedule the Corporate Hospitality Program due to events and/or circumstances beyond its reasonable control (thus not allowing guests to access the reserved Hospitality Facility), the USGA shall refund a portion of the rental fee for its reserved Hospitality Facility for such cancelled day or days as determined by the USGA. Any potential refund of the rental fee shall be determined independently of any potential refund of the admission fee.
Food and Beverage: The Food and Beverage Fee is non-refundable unless the Championship, and/or the Corporate Hospitality Program, is cancelled in its entirety prior to the first practice day.
The remedies set forth in the paragraphs above shall be the sole and exclusive remedies available in the event of a cancellation of the Championship and/or Hospitality Program (in whole or in part) and the USGA shall not be liable for any other damages whether or not such damages are a direct result of such cancellation and whether or not such damages were foreseeable.
